We Welcome New Commanders

I'd like to extend a warm welcome to out two new Commanders, Mike Jenkins and John Ackree. They will both be working with the Adventure Rangers. I'm very happy to have them onboard, I know they will be a huge help to our outpost. If you get a chance, please thank them for volunteering to work with the young boys of Christian Chapel.

Volunteers (Men & Women)

The Christian Chapel Royal Rangers are still in need of helpers.

The Royal Ranger program is broken up into four age groups as follows:

  • Ranger Kids - Kindergarten thru 2nd grade
  • Discovery Rangers - 3rd thru 5th grade
  • Adventure Rangers - 6th thru 8th grade
  • Expedition Rangers - 9th thru 12th grade
We need helpers for all age groups. Even though the Royal Ranger program is for boys, we can use help from women as well. If you would like to volunteer to help the young boys of the Christian Chapel learn about and follow Christ while also learning important life lessons and skills, please contact Andrew Christie @ andrewchristie1@gmail.com or 757-502-5077.

Homework Assigned 10/14/07

The Ranger Kids have the following homework that was assigned on October 14, 2007. Page # indicates the page of the Ranger Handbook that describes the tasks.
  • Going Places Badge (page 56)
  • Help a Neighbor (page 56)
We'll talk about these assignments at the next Ranger meeting (10/21/07).

Remember that kids can work on any of the badges in their Handbooks in advance. Just make sure the boys notify their commander so that they can get credit.

What is the Royal Rangers?

The Royal Rangers is a great program for young boys to learn about the gospel. Royal Rangers is similar to the Boy Scouts, but with a strong focus on teaching the Christian lifestyle. In addition to studying and learning about the bible, Royal Rangers learn important life skills and lessons. We engage in fun activities, which makes the kids want to stick with the program.

We invite your boys to come join the fun. If you have boys who would be interested in participating, contact Andrew Christie, Senior Commander.

Ranger Kids

The Ranger Kids have started working on the new advancement, Coyote. They are also working on the 'Help a Neighbor' Patch. All they have to do is simply help a neighbor with some chores or household activities and be ready to report how they helped to Commander Joyce.

Adventure Rangers

All of the Adventure Rangers are working on their Chess Merit. Cole and Bishop are working on the 1 Corinthians Bible Merit. Once all the Adventure Rangers finish all of their Bible Merits, they will be ready to move on to exciting new things.

Royal Ranger Commanders NEEDED!

Our Royal Ranger program is an awesome program that helps our young boys not only learn important life skills and lessons, it helps them learn about God. We have a wonderful outpost at Christian Chapel that has steadily grown over the last couple of months. During our meeting last week, we had 12 boys show up, which is the most I've seen since I've been involved with the program.

I think it's a wonderful thing that our boys want to be involved in a program that teaches them how to live a Christian life. However, we're in jeopardy of losing the program we have at the Christian Chapel because we simply do not have enough support. We currently only have 2 adult volunteers (myself and Joyce Carter), and one young adult (Timothy), which is barely enough to support the 3 different groups of boys we have (Ranger Kids, Discovery Rangers, and Adventure Rangers). Ideally, we'd like to have 2 volunteers for each group so that sessions can be alternated and to have extra help for the bigger projects.

We're currently looking for adult males age 21 and older who would be interested in guiding our the boys of our church in the right direction and creating new leaders who have a strong christian faith. If you understand the importance of teaching our boys the right way to live, then pray to God and ask him if you're the right person for the job. If you find that you would like to volunteer, please contact me at andrew@cpcx.com or 757-502-5077.

Please help keep this awesome program rolling!

Welcome to Christian Chapel Royal Ranger Blog

Hello Christian Chapel Royal Rangers and Royal Ranger parents. I've setup this blog in an attempt to optimize communication between everyone who participates in the Royal Ranger program at the Christian Chapel. As the senior commander of the Christian Chapel Royal Ranger program, I have a great deal of information to share with numerous people. The goal of this blog is to enable me to be able to share that information.

By periodically logging on to this site, you can keep up with the latest developments. Parents can see what assignments their child has been assigned. Commanders can communicate with each other and the parents.

I'm excited about the many fun and educational activities planned for the future and I hope that you check in regularly to keep up with our kids' spiritual growth and development.
